Recognition of Compassion: Finalists for Palliative and End of Life Care Award in Residential Care Home Category

We are incredibly proud to announce that Coxbench Hall has been named a finalist for the Palliative and End of Life Care Award in the Residential Care Home Category. This prestigious recognition is a testament to the unwavering dedication, compassion, and professionalism shown by our entire team in providing dignified, person-centred care during life’s most vulnerable moments.

Being nominated for this award alone was a deep honour—an affirmation that the efforts we put into ensuring comfort, respect, and emotional support for both residents and their families are being recognised at a national level. To now be among the select few chosen as finalists is humbling and deeply meaningful to us all.

Palliative and end of life care goes beyond medical support; it is about preserving the dignity of every individual, creating a sense of peace, and ensuring that every moment matters. At Coxbench Hall, we prioritise empathy, active listening, and personalised care planning that honours each resident’s unique needs, values, and wishes. We also provide support to families and loved ones, helping them feel involved, heard, and comforted throughout what is often a profoundly emotional journey.

This recognition reflects the collective commitment of our care staff, nurses, support workers, and management, who work hand in hand every day to create a compassionate and respectful environment. From quiet companionship to expert clinical care, every gesture contributes to a culture that values life at every stage.

Being recognised for this award is deeply touching for us, as we draw on personal experience to improve the care and support. Our founder, Brian Ballin received end of life care in the home that he had dedicated his life to for 40 years. As a family we are continuing with his legacy and continue to improve and create a home for all the team to be proud of.

As we look ahead to the final ceremony, we are filled with pride and gratitude—for our staff, our residents, their families, and the community that supports us. No matter the outcome, being recognised as a finalist is a powerful reminder of why we do what we do.
